Sunshine welcomed over 90 adult swimmers to the Heights Leisure Centre for the Isle of Wight Marlins Swim Club’s 12th Masters Swimming Open Meet.
Representing 23 clubs from the Island, the mainland, Germany, Wales and Guernsey, the swimmers competed over two days, Friday and Saturday, in 38 events.
Karen Lewis joined the club in March 2009 as an average recreational swimmer with aspirations to enter her first Triathlon at Freshwater in September.
She tentatively asked if we could help her learn front crawl, though she was planning to settle for Breaststroke for the 600m swim.
A successful AGM was held on Friday 27 November at Ventnor Cricket Club, followed by good hospitality and dining for 20 members and guests.
Gordon Osborne chaired the AGM as our Chairman Nancy Godwin was not able to attend, but everything went well and a full complement of Committee members were accepted.
